We have been having some minor issues with our AC but on Friday the fan blade came off and was so bent out of shape that it was not salvagable. This happened while I was at the office and Chris was out running errand, by the time he got home at 4pm, our house was 92 degrees! We got a wonderful service guy named Eric from Parker & Sons out at about 6pm and he tried to get the fan blade servicable for a termporary fix but no such luck. He didn't have a replacement fan blade but could get one for installation Saturday morning. All this withough any special charge for after hours or weekend service!
There was no way we could sleep in the house with it over 90 degrees, so we needed to find a place to bed down. After calling several hotels that advertised they were pet friendly we couldn't find any place that would allow Odin and Vesta - or even just one, not that that was an option. We actually have taken Odin with us on a staycation to the Westin Kierland in scottsdale but that was a bit out of our price range for emergency shelter, lol.
We finally decided that a last minute trip to visit Grandpa Ralph in Pinetop was just the solution. It was a late night to get there, but we had a wonderful visiting with Grandpa and his neighbors on Saturday morning. Alexa got to feed minature horses and got to meet a huge pig, a donkey and two horses up close. She had a really good time even though the car ride was a little long for her 3-year-old attention span. She even took a nap on the way home, which was all to the good.
When we got home at lunch time on Sunday our house was nice and cool - thank you Eric & Parker and Sons.
